education

We have selected, through the recommendation of the principal and
teachers, students to receive financial aid to attend college. To date
we have six graduates. Here are our current recipients.

Jessica Karime Vera Alvarez is
finishing her last year of high school and starts University in the
fall. Jessica wants to be a doctor. She has a passion for medicine—it
excites and motivates her.

An outstanding student, her grades were mostly 10s with sometimes a 9
which she brought back up to 10. Her hobbies are reading and music. She
has studied the violin. A friend describes Jessica: “Quiet, a little shy, very dedicated to whatever she puts her mind to.”

This is a long-term commitment — four to five years of medical school, and then a year of specialization, which she thinks will be psychiatry.

Daniel Cardoso Perez is 19 years old and in the second semester of his first year at
university. Presently his specialty is engineering; however, this
spring he will apply for the exam to begin medical school.

Daniel’s hobbies are learning
languages (Russian and Japanese), reading, running, exercise and
gymnastics. Last year he placed first in the Baja state-wide all-around
gymnastics competition.

A friend describes Daniel: “Friendly, honest, sincere, gets good grades.”
