The Adventures of Diego Knight

Updated: Jan 30

Greetings all.

My name is Diego Knight. I have lived here in Rosarito Beach for about 12 years or so.  Why did I come here? To take care of my parents.  They are gone and I am still here? Why?  Good question. I could live anywhere I want. But the reason is that I learned, explored and experienced a lot while I have been living here.

I got a camera to show the world what I see, first starting with the sunsets here in Baja, and they are always impressive.  Then folklorico dancing with the colorful attire, different styles from different locations of Mexico.  Then the music scene in Rosarito Beach and Tijuana with Hola Soy Lola and other groups. People and places.  Then festivals such as Baja Blues Fest, Baja Sand, Tijuana Jazz & Blues Fest, Mariachi Event and more.  Next I met journalists and that opened a new world, meeting more people and seeing more places.

Then I got involved with sports here. My father was proud of my photos of surfing, basketball, kids American football and more.  Of course he was a football fan. He would be very proud of me taking a selfie in the middle of the Caliente Stadium for a  Galgos game.

I remember when I was an extra for a movie but more fun was a zombie for the TV series, "Fear the Walking Dead".   I see and hear the ocean every day. It's a living painting, everything alive and changing every day. The mountains east of the toll road, wildfires and horseback ride event every year.

I think about where I am from, south of Chicago, Indiana, Alabama, Republic of Korea. But I know that I am here and realize that I am to be here.

A lot of adventures here in the 10 years of  getting into photography, and more  in the future. More people and more places and more adventures.

The United Society of Baja California (USBC), is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 1983, with a mission to provide social and charitable activities for the mutual benefit of the Rosarito Beach community. Over the years, USBC has grown into a social group, welcoming new members to the area and providing activities allowing for easier integration into the Mexico way of life. But more than a charitable & social group, USBC is your FAMILY in Rosarito. USBC serves the expat community of Rosarito as a trusted source of information, connections and recommendations for living in Mexico.
